I am the Aging OFW.

In Y50 to Y70, my parents raised me under their old family traditions of their ancestors that is observed and practiced very tightly. With a young mind, at times I was hesitant to follow the family house rules. However, as I turned adult many of the family values I’ve absorbed helped me easily to overcome difficulties popping up in my way of living.

Living is a cycle of ups & down; and that’s where the beauty of my parents wisdom & guidance in faith, have soothe & assists me many times until now.

For various reasons, I want to believe that most of us will want to keep working even beyond that of our so-called retirement years. Work for me is about staying alive and purposeful; a good way to stay healthy. For both young and old, work does not have to be hard work; it should be “leisurely” work. But don’t dabble.

And here I am @geannhomegarden (https://geannhomegardenhome.blogspot.com/) from 5:30am-10:30am, Monday to Friday, I’m engaged in my farm drills. My free times are after lunch where I can choose to take power nap for several minutes, attend to my part time marketing activities for St Peter & Life Plans or do virtual admin assisting/typing for client online (whichever comes first).

Actually, I’m having fun times in SPLPI activities. It involves the sale of memorial service where the earning is paid from commission of sales. I found no pressure since the prospects/consumers that I can choose from are endless referrals by means of relationship (kapamilya, kamag-anak, kaibigan and nearby neighbours)

The most important part of the process is when the client and prospect genuinely realize that they can trust the service. The signing of a new Plan will eventually pay off!

It does not stop there; the company offers job opportunity for people who want to earn extra. It also dictates its own compensation plan for paying out the earnings of its sales force. Hence, incentives are stable giving more motivations for the referrals to invite others to join the company as fellow salespeople.

What I’ve learned. You need a vision to get through the marketing arena. Take notes of your goals to show you a road map of ideas to be successful.

Where do you want to be in 6 months? 1 year? 3 years? Start by writing down your goal income per week and figure out a plan how many signups you can accomplish per week. Written goals are much better than simply thinking about the future.

My fellow OFWs, don’t hesitate to tap me for assistance. I’ll be here as needed @geannhomegarden.
